Nestled in the forest amongst old-growth trees and ancient flora, sits the idyllic small town of Oneoff. Rich in history as a once-booming hub, this sleepy little hamlet has been withering in economic decay for over a decade. When Shayleigh Brogan blows into town with big plans to breathe new life into Oneoff, everyone is buzzing with excitement. Everyone, that is, except for Lucas. Lucas McCallen is the town’s stoic young sheriff. His entire life has been spent running from the mythic lore of his family’s haunted past. When the rumor mill churns with excitement, all his instincts scream resistance until Ms. Brogan stumbles onto an old crime scene and unleashes an evil entity. His house of cards begins crumbling as he races to unravel the vile history of the town’s namesake with his own ancestors’ involvement. Only if he accepts his magical heritage, and releases his delusions of safety, will he be able to fight for what he loves.
He can’t run from his destiny forever… and the darkness is rising.

Simply HAD to share my thoughts on Book Banshee's incredible editing services. As a prolific writer, my novels can be quite heavy to wade theough. My latest novel, Circulus, was a tidy 150k words before the trimming began. As a touch of an "overwriter" I was careful to choose an editor who could "murder my darlings" without losing my voice or the stylized nuances of my characters, and Breanna delivered in spades! She quickly captured the unique character stylings of each bit of dialogue, and dug in quickly to turn around a polished piece of fiction in timely fashion Her insights were spot on and never once did I feel like she altered the voice of my characters, nor myself as the author. Professional, capable, and delivered exactly what she promised.... exactly as she promised. I will DEFINITELY use Book Banshee again in the future!

delayed honeymoon

editor & copywriter: Breanna Bean
Christina’s wedding is the kind of event little girls dream of — gorgeous wedding dress, luxurious decorations, ritzy venue, artisan cake, handsome fiancé. It looks like something right off the pages of a posh bridal magazine. It looks perfect. But looks can be deceiving. As daughter to a high-powered Mafia boss, Christina Mancini must get married to Giovanni Cacciatore — much like princesses were once married off to unite kingdoms, this mafia “princess” is stuck with the responsibility of defusing tension between the East and West Coast Mafia. The marriage is purely transactional. A business deal. Christina is en route to the airport to kick off her loveless marriage with a sexless honeymoon when things go awry. Oh great, now she’s being kidnapped by a biker gang and held for ransom… just a typical mafia daughter kind of day. David, retired Navy SEAL, now works solo, putting his unique skillset to use as a hired mercenary for the obscenely wealthy — he’s rescued his fair share of spoiled little rich girls and this job is seemingly no different. Arturo Mancini was very prepared for something like this to happen and has been paying David all month leading up to the wedding to track and protect his daughter, just in case. Now that she’s being carried off by some bikers, it’s time for David to get to work. Things get a bit complicated, forcing this unlikely duo to go on the run together and pose as a couple. Christina is grateful to her stoic savior, who she finds increasingly attractive with every passing moment, but she knows this is just another business transaction — story of her life. David is a true professional and has never crossed those boundaries and isn’t about to start… even if there is a lot more to this enigmatic heiress than he previously thought. They are only “playing” at love... right?

The death of the day

Editor & copywriter: Breanna Bean
It’s Christmas morning and Prince Henri knows exactly how the day is to go — and he is dreading it. Not just because Christmas in Nemeth is always the same: predictable, dull, and depressing. Not just because the Princess from a neighboring kingdom is there to formalize her betrothal to him, begrudgingly. It’s not the specific annoyances and nuances of the day that Henri dreads, but the day itself — for our Prince has already lived this day. Literally. Again and again. He is trapped in some sort of time loop and seems to be doomed to repeat this day for all eternity. Is it a curse? Is it a trap? Is it some punishment from the Gods? Is it a life lesson he has yet to learn? His burden is a lonely one, for he is the only person who is aware of this hellish helix of time… or is he? Tauren is a young warlock with many magical gifts. He has been dreaming of a handsome prince from a faraway kingdom for all his life. Well, not so much “dreaming” as seeing — he has some sort of psychic tether to this prince and when Tauren sleeps, he watches the Prince’s life unfold. He has come to love this man from afar, and when the dreams abruptly stop, Tauren sets out on a journey to find out why. Will Henri trust this interloper? Will Tauren be able to rescue the man of his dreams?

Fortune favors

editor & copywriter: breanna bean
Diviners are a rare and coveted type. Their gift of Future Sight is valuable to anyone who yearns to know their fate. Although some would say they are simply scam artists and opportunists, in the King’s land, the Court Diviner is held in the highest regard. Nell Tyran is enjoying her summer holiday, away from the pressures of royal life, when a letter arrives from her father, Xavian Tyran, the King’s personal Court Diviner. She is to return home at once, escorted by the two guards hired to protect her on the journey — someone, or something, is killing Diviners, and all those with the Sight are being called to the Citadel for sanctuary. Tragedy and terror strike the trio during their travels, forcing Nell to change direction and put all of her trust into her guard Laken — even with her gift of Sight, she is unsure how to interpret her visions and suspicious of his true intentions. Follow this unlikely pair on their arduous journey through enchanted lands, where mythic magic and cursed beasts of legend will challenge and change them. In a realm full of sorcery and monsters, the truest magic will always be love.

a silver court: a royal love

editor & copywriter: breanna bean
It is social season in fae society and the usually rivaling kingdoms, the Seelie and the Unseelie, are brought together for their yearly festivities. Lady Aanya of House Bloodborn, a royal member of the Unseelie, wants nothing more than to heal the rift of the two courts. Now that she has come of age, the beautiful fae lady, gifted with shadow magic and moonlight skin, must choose a suitable match — a strategic marriage to a Seelie lord or duke could be just the thing to gain political favor. But Aanya, ever the adventurer, senses imminent danger and has other plans…. Will she sacrifice true love for the future of her people? Or dash off on a quest for mythical items promising peace. Can she really face these looming dark forces on her own? This exciting story weaves magic with the modern world. A fae realm existing alongside ours, utilizing both shadow magic and cellphones; where teleportation and train rides are both everyday forms of travel.
